English 8th: . We corrected the vocabulary packet and went over unfamiliar words.  Students read Anne Frank within cooperative reading groups. They will have a quiz on section 1 (pg.1-24) quiz tomorrow. *homework: Vocab. & study for quiz (re-read section)- read AR


Geography 7th: We corrected the guided reading.  Assigned:  pg. 96 #1-6 *homework: pg. 96 if not completed in class - read AR
English 7th: We practiced identifying the types of QAR questions in a reading passage in class.  Students used the Unraavel reading strategy as well as QAR.  They will work in pairs tomorrow to show what they have learned with QAR/Unraavel.  *homework: Spelling & read AR

English 8th: Students received their vocabulary packet. We are returning to the normal vocabulary program. The packet is due tomorrow for grading - test Friday.   Students read Anne Frank within cooperative reading groups.  They will have a quiz on section 1 (pg.1-24) this week - most likely Wednesday. *homework: Vocabulary packet - read AR


Geography 7th: Ch.3 Section 3 - students read the section through their online textbook.  They were allowed to work in groups for their chart, but independently for the Guided Reading Activity 3.  *homework: GR 3-3 & chart if not completed in class - read AR
English 7th: Students received their spelling worksheet, and will be returning to their normal spelling program this week.  They were introduced to a new reading strategy concept called QAR (question answer relationship) and practiced identifying different QAR types in class.  *homework: Spelling & read AR

Geography 7th: We corrected pg. 89 #1-5 and students were given quiz 3-2.  After the quiz we continued Glogster presentations.  *homework: current event - read AR
English 7th: Students learned about different points of view in writing, and practiced writing a story in "first person" within their journal.  We discussed characteristics to a persuasive essay, and students started a pre-write activity in preparation for writing one.  *homework: A+ & read AR

English 8th:No vocabulary this week - instead students are working in the A+ program (Language Usage).  They should complete at least 3 lessons by Friday, and take notes (notes will be turned in).  Students put together their English portfolios and filled in their assessment charts (includes assessments and essays from the semester).  *homework: A+ &  read AR


Geography 7th:   Ch.3 Section 2 (culture) - students read pg.82-89 within reading groups.  Within the group they completed a chart on culture traits, and worked on Guided Reading Activity 2 independently.  *homework: Guided Reading 3-2 & chart if not completed in class - current event - read AR

Geography 7th:   We created a chart about global migration (causes & effects) together, and then students worked on Guided Reading Activity 1 independently.   *homework:   GR 3-1 due tomorrow - Glogster (due Thursday) - read AR
English 7th: Students wrote a short poem each and shared in class.  We discussed modifiers (Averbs & Adjectives), and students wrote types, examples, and sentences within their foldables.  *homework: Spelling (due Friday) - modifier sentences if not done in class - read AR

We are set up in the new online grade book - Teacherease.  Students received a letter asking for additional emails to add to the grade book if desired (student email, other parent email, grandparent, guardian, etc..).  Once an email is entered into the system, you will receive a welcome email with log-in information. 

English 8th:Students received Lesson 4 vocabulary packet - due tomorrow for grading.   *homework: Vocab. packet - read AR


Geography 7th: Ch.3 -Students read section 1 -  pg.71-78 within groups.  They were assigned the vocabulary from this section.  The vocabulary should be done as a picture or cartoon, labeling the word & definition in a visual way (due tomorrow).  There is not current event this week.  Students need to finish their Glogster project by Thursday for presentations. *homework: Vocabulary Ch.3 Section 1 - Glogster -  read AR
English 7th: Students received their Lesson 4 spelling worksheet. Geography 7th: We started a Glogster project, an online multi-media postering website.  We'll continue this project tomorrow (no due date yet). *homework: current event due tomorrow
English 7th: Students worked on DOL/Journal.  We worked on our POS foldables after watching a short video about nouns.  Students needed to finish the nouns portion of the foldable (writing 4 sentences and identifying nouns.  *homework: POS foldable - spelling work due tomorrow (study for TEST) - read AR
