English 8:   We started our 3rd and last round of assessments, and students took the STAR test today.   We read our class journal to prepare for the ending, which will be written tomorrow. Assigned is the class journal entry (digital copy) and illustration - due Friday.

Geography 7: Ch. 17 TEST.  Students worked on A+ assignments for the remainder of the class (those who did not finish last week are given the chance to get them done).  Students who finished all A+ last week are not assigned this as homework.  Homework: A+ makeup work- read AR


English 7:    We started our 3rd and last round of assessments, and students took the STAR test today.  Students wrote in their journals.  After the STAR test, students learned about and practiced writing a fun 4-line poem called the Clerihew.  Each student wrote two and illustrated one.   Homework:  read AR

English 8:   We started our 3rd and last round of assessments, starting with the MAZE comprehension today.  We will be taking STAR and doing WPM (words per minute) as well this week.  Students learned about and practiced writing Clerihew poetry within their journals.

Geography 7: Study guide & student teach - Ch. 17 study guide.  Students work on a small number of questions within groups, and then teach the answers to the class.  All students left school with a completed study guide today.  Also study vocabulary, past assignments for Ch. 17, and missed items on quizzes. If you did not complete A+ last week, that is homework this week!  Homework: STUDY FOR CH. 17 TEST - read AR

English 8:   Anne Frank Final - study guides were collected.  Students who are not yet at 100% for AR took a quiz on the class novel as well.

English 8:   Students worked on their study packet for Anne Frank in a pair/share activity with others.  We also worked on an additional final test guide in small groups.  Students should have completed both of these study aids and finished the book.  The final will be tomorrow.

English 8:   Students worked on reading groups to complete Anne Frank and the study guide packet.  This is due in completion by tomorrow for some pair-share activities.  Final Anne Frank test will be Wednesday.  No vocabulary this week.

Geography 7: We corrected Guided Reading 17-1.  Assigned was pg. 456 #1-6.  Students had already completed #1 and #6 in class last week, so there was not a lot to finish with this assignment.  If not completed in class it is homework (due tomorrow). English 7: Students finished affirmations, worked on journal, and then read Gathering Blue in reading groups.  In groups, students completed a literary terms sheet to identify what is changing within the story  (plot, theme, setting, characters, conflict, etc..).  No spelling this week.  Homework:   Read Gathering Blue - read AR

5/9/14 NEW GYM OPENING CELEBRATION!

English 8:   We made it through one presentation before going to the "NEW GYM" opening assembly.  Students need to read through designated pages in Anne Frank.  The final will be Wednesday of next week (5/14/14).  Work on study guide.
