English 8:    NO VOCABULARY THIS WEEK due to testing & testing prep.  Students practiced writing thesis statements within their research packet, and formulated a thesis statement for their own papers.  We completed the charts within portfolios to reflect recent assessments.   *homework:  Reading packet & research paper outline (due tomorrow) - read AR
Teen Leadership:  We continued with Lesson 21: Self-Concept vs. Image.  Students were assigned a project due next week (Wed.) to create a visual collage showing their image vs. self-concept.     *homework: start collage - read AR

English 8:    NO VOCABULARY THIS WEEK due to testing & testing prep.  Students used the beginning of class to work on their research notes (due today) and the AzMerit prep reading packet (due Friday).  We discussed outline format and compared it to other pre-write activities.  The research paper outline is due Friday. For the remainder of the class students read Anne Frank in cooperative reading groups.   *homework:  Reading packet & research paper outline (due Friday) - read AR
Teen Leadership:  Students gave speeches (A Relationship That is Important to Me) and both verbally and in writing affirmed each other.  *homework: - read AR

Teen Leadership:  We started the lesson on self-control, and student performed role plays for different scenarios with a substitute teacher. We will be discussing Empathy tomorrow.   *homework:  1 affirmation (if not completed in class) - read AR
