5/14/19 Tuesday - Sports Banquet Tonight 6PM

7C Honors English:  After taking the class novel final test, students worked on their projects (due Thurs.).    Homework:  final novel project - permission slip for The Giver- Read AR
English 8:  After discussion & clarifying the section study guides, student took both the Anne Frank final test as well as the AR quiz for the book.  Homework: permission slip for Freedom Writers - Read AR
English 7:  We read Ch. 17-20 in The Giver, and students took the quiz for Ch. 11-19.  We will finish the book tomorrow.   Homework:  -  Read AR

5/13/19 Monday

7C Honors English:  After journals, students were given final project options for their class novel.  This will be due Thursday. No vocabulary this week.  The Giver final will be tomorrow.   Homework:  final project - Read AR
English 8:  Students were given much of the class period to work on the group quiz in preparation for the Anne Frank Final tomorrow. Both the study guide and group quiz will be collected tomorrow.   Homework: study for Anne Frank final - Read AR
English 7:  Students read The Giver in reading groups.  Assigned was reading through Ch. 17 in preparation for a quiz tomorrow.  No spelling this week.   Homework:  The Giver through Ch. 17 -  Read AR

5/10/19 It's Friday!

7C Honors English:  Students took a quiz for their class novel, a vocabulary test, and then finished their novel independently.   Homework:  - Read AR
English 8:  After presentations, students worked on finishing Anne Frank along with the study guide.  Homework:  Finish Anne Frank & the study guide- Read AR
English 7:  After taking the spelling test for Lesson 11, students worked in cooperative reading groups to read The Giver.  Homework:   Read AR

5/9/18 ...almost Friday

7C Honors English:  Students were given most of the class period to read their class novel (both are getting exciting).  Homework: Vocab. sentences - Read AR
English 8:  Most of the class was spent on presentations.  For the remaining time, students worked on finishing the Anne Frank study guide.  Homework:  Finish Anne Frank & the study guide- Read AR
English 7:  After working on spelling, students were given time in cooperative reading groups.   Homework:  Spelling sentences - Read AR

5/3/19 It's Friday!!

7C Honors English:  All vocab. was due, and students took the vocab. test.   Homework: Read AR
English 8:  Students were given a demonstration on using Microsoft Word for references, parenthetical citation, and works cited.  The final draft is due Monday.  Homework:  Final Essay & visual due Monday - Read AR
English 7:  All spelling was due, and students took the spelling test for The Giver Ch. 11-18.   Homework: Read AR

5/2/19 Thursday

7C Honors English:  After correcting the vocabulary packet, we discussed/clarified unfamiliar words.  Students read in cooperative reading groups to finish the "What Doesn't Belong" assignment (due tomorrow).  Homework: All vocab. due tomorrow - Read AR
English 8:  Students learned about and practiced parenthetical citation.  For the remainder, students peer edited research reports. The final report with visual is due Monday.  Homework:  Read 25 pages of Anne Frank (work on study guide) - No vocab. this week - word choice changes -  Read AR
English 7:  After discussing spelling words, students spent the remainder of class reading The Giver to pg. 100 (writing an independent summary/predict - due tomorrow at the end of class).  Homework:  All spelling due tomorrow - Read AR
