All English 8:  Final Monster Exchange instructions were due for the exchange tomorrow.  The school counselor visited to discuss high school/college plans.  We visited career exploration websites and filled out pre-ECAP plans.    *homework:  preECAP if not completed in class - read AR

All Classes:  After DOL/Journal, students completed both the MAZE and WPM assessments (end-semester assessment).  For the remainder of the class, students worked on detailed instructions for completing their monsters.  This is due tomorrow for peer editing.  *homework:  monster instructions (minimum of 10 instructions in complete sentences)  - read AR!

ALL English 8:  We discussed the dress code within the handbook, as all classes were instructed to do this morning.  After writing in journals, students worked on A+ (adaptive vocabulary).  Three lessons (apples) will be due by Friday.  A Galileo practice packet was handed out (8.RI.1 - text evidence reading informational text) - due on Wednesday.  homework:  Galileo practice packet - close read & annotations - due Wed. - READ AR

English 8A: After DOL/Journal, students turned in the final copy of the autobiography.  We discussed Galileo results and testing, as well as started a Galileo practice packet.  Assigned was the first read of the first passage in the packet.   homework:  first read - Galileo packet -   read AR
English 8B: Students spent the majority of the class doing peer editing.  When finished, they worked on 10 word choice changes, as well as starting the final draft of the autobiography (due Thursday at the beginning of class).   homework: 10 word choice changes - final draft (due Thursday) -   read AR
All - English 7:  Students wrote about self-control in their journal today (the character of the month trait).  We discussed complete sentence vs. fragment instead of DOL, and students practiced identifying and writing complete sentences.  Assigned was the sentence & fragment w/s pg. 22 (#1-28).  Students then completed the 2nd read of the Galileo practice packet in partners and annotated the passage together.  The first passage should be fully annotated, along with the question answered.  homework: Read 2 & annotation - questions answered - complete w/s pg. 22 #1-28 (complete sentence & fragment)-   read AR
