English 8A: After DOL/Journal, students worked on the final draft of their essay.  We discussed the bibliography page as well as using Microsoft word to create in-text parenthetical citation.   homework:  Final Essay due tomorrow - read AR

English 8A:  Students learned about and used idioms within journal writing.  They watched a demonstration for creating parenthetical citation & a bibliography within Microsoft Word, and then started peer editing their biographies.  We'll continue peer editing tomorrow.   homework:  10 word choice changes or additions (visible) within the rough draft
English 8B:   Students learned about and used idioms within journal writing. We discussed the organization of the biography again, and students worked on the rough draft for the remainder of the class.    homework:  rough draft due tomorrow (hand written or typed) for peer editing

10/15/14 Galileo test (ELA) tomorrow!

English 8: Students took the second part of the EXPLORE test, the academic portion.  Students will take the ELA Galileo Benchmark test tomorrow.  Homework:  read AR!
English 7: Students learned about onomatopoeia and practiced using in in writing journals.  We also practiced stretching sentences instead of DOL.  Assigned was pg. 3 reading warm-up handout.  This is due tomorrow (the entire packet is due Friday). Students will take the ELA Galileo Benchmark test tomorrow.  Homework: pg. 3 reading warm-up - read AR!!
