English 7:  After DOL/Journal, students were given a demonstration of the AzMerit online practice test, and were allowed to explore the test for the remainder of the class.  NO SPELLING THIS WEEK.    Homework: AzMerit Practice test online- read AR

English 7:  After DOL/Journal, students were given their spelling word list (synonyms and antonyms).  We discussed the words in the list for correct pronunciation and understanding.  The spelling program has resumed this week.   Homework: Spelling (synonyms & antonyms) - read AR

All Classes:  We continued AzMerit prep.  Students worked on their final essay for the entire class period.  It was due and collected at the end of class.  Those not completing it fully are aware that I will take it for credit NO LATER than March 27th.      NO SPELLING or VOCABULARY HOMEWORK THIS WEEK!   Homework: Check the grade book for missing/absent/redo work  - read AR

English 7:  We continued AzMerit prep.    Assigned was CLOSE reading 2 of the passages and creating a pre-write graphic organizer for each of the 2.  We read The Giver for the remainder of the class. There will be a quiz tomorrow over Ch. 1-5.   NO SPELLING HOMEWORK THIS WEEK!   Homework: CLOSE Read and create a pre-write for 2 passages - read AR

English 7:  Students were given some time to work on spelling.  After reading several journals, students worked in cooperative reading groups.   Homework:  spelling sentences (all spelling due tomorrow) - read AR 
English 8:   Students in Block 3 (8A) were given some time to work on vocabulary. The remainder o the class was spent working in cooperative reading groups.  Students in Block 4 (8B) were given a bit of time to work on vocabulary, and the remainder of the class was spent taking a quiz on Anne Frank Section 1 (pg. 1-24).    Homework: vocabulary sentences (all vocabulary due tomorrow) -read AR

English 7:  Students received The Giver spelling list for ch. 1-5.  The spelling program will remain the same, except Monday's worksheet will be the word list with synonyms & antonyms.  For my homeroom class (7A), conference sheets were handed out. Homework:  spelling synonyms & antonyms- read AR 
English 8:   Students received Anne Frank Vocabulary list for the entire unit.  Students are assigned 24 words within Section 1 today.  The vocabulary program will remain the same, except Monday's work will be synonyms & antonyms rather than the packet.  Students read Anne Frank in cooperative reading groups.  There will be a quiz this week on pages 1-24.   Homework: vocabulary synonyms & antonyms -read AR
