English 7: After a discussion about personification, students used it in journal writing.  In pairs, students started the 2nd read of "Stolen Day" using sticky notes to annotate the passage.  Homework: annotate passage (due tomorrow) - read AR
English 8: After a discussion about personification, students used it in journal writing. Students were assigned the adjective/adverb worksheet (back side of vocab. builder) after participating in a short lesson & class activity.  Homework: adjective & adverb w/s - read AR

English 7: After a discussion about idioms, students used them in journal writing.  In groups, students finished pg. 105 #2b, 3, & 4.  Assigned is reading the next story "Stolen Day" pg. 107-112.  Homework: Read pg. 107-112 - read AR
English 8: After DOL/Journal, we discussed "Flowers for Algernon" and comprehension questions.  Students worked on the next part of the classroom Flubble identifying adjectives and text evidence for Charlie Gordan as he changed.   Homework: vocabulary builder w/s - read AR

English 8: After Journal (hyperbole), students started a FLUBBLE Map describing a character from our story (and mapping that character's change). English 7A (Block 2): After discussion about types of characters, students listened to the audio of Rikki Tikki Tavi.  They continued work with the bubble map adding a frame of reference.  Homework: -bubble map -  read AR
English 8: After DOL/Journal, students completed a brief peer edit of their Alternate POV before typing it into Pearson Essay Scorer. We will finish it tomorrow.  Homework:  work on final Alternate POV- read AR
