7C Honors English:  After journal, we went over the AzMerit Reading practice packet.   Students read their class novel in cooperative reading groups.  Assigned was Close Reading the first 2 passages in the AzMerit Writing.  No vocabulary this week due to AzMerit Prep.  Homework: AzMerit Writing-Close read 2 passages- Read AR
English 8:  Both classes went over the AzMerit Reading practice packet.  8B:  After reading the class journal & starting the ending,  8A:  Students were given the AzMerit Writing prep for Close Reading.  Homework: AzMerit writing prep - No vocabulary this week due to AzMerit - Read AR

7C Honors English:  After correcting the write your own QAR, students were shown the online AzMerit practice tests.  Each student was given an AzMerit test prep packet & assigned the first passage with questions #1-10.   Homework: AzMerit Prep #1-10 - class journal entry- Read AR

7C Honors English:  After correcting the independent QAR, students read their class journal endings and voted for which will be published in the journal. Homework: All vocab. due tomorrow  - Read AR
English 8: After discussing the causes of WWII and the rise of Hitler to power, students started reading Anne Frank in cooperative reading groups.  Homework: All vocab. due tomorrow - Read AR
English 7:  After DOL/journal, students completed a short passage and were given the assignment of identifying QAR for each of the 6 questions.  Homework: All spelling due tomorrow - QAR passage - Read AR

English 8: After journal, students worked in reading groups to create a multi-flow map showing causes of WWII  8B: If the flow map was not done in class, it is homework. 8A: In groups, students read the afterward of Anne Frank and started the multi-flow map (not homework).   Homework: vocabulary definitions - Read AR
English 7:  After DOL/journal, students started learning the reading strategy QAR (Question Answer Relationship).   Homework: Spelling definitions -    Read AR

3/5/19 Parent Night for 8th grade - 6PM

7C Honors English:  We read the entire class journal and started writing an ending.  We corrected vocabulary and discussed unfamiliar words.   Homework: vocabulary - Read AR
English 8: After journal, we discussed the vocabulary list.  8B: Student were able to get into groups and start the 'afterward' in Anne Frank (pg. 269-275.  If not done in class is homework. 8A: Reading group roles were described.   Homework: vocabulary categories - 8B: Anne Frank pages - Read AR
English 7:  Students worked on publishing a poem using technology in class.   Homework:Spelling -    Read AR

7C Honors English:  All vocab.  was due before the test.  Students worked on Close reading & affirmations for the remainder.  Homework: Read AR

English 7:  All spelling work was due. Students took the spelling test for lesson 8. All 6 poems were collected (2 Diamontes, 2 Clerihews, and 2 Limericks).   Homework:   Read AR
