Block 1 - 8A:   Students identified and used common, proper, and possessive nouns in writing.  We continued reading Raymond's Run on the online textbook.  Students answered questions using the online "active notebook" within the program.  This is new, so we have been slowly integrating it. All Classes:  We finished Galileo ELA testing today.  Students also worked within their journals (free-writing and DOL).  Pearson Literature books were checked out to students.  If a student does not have a book cover at school, he or she should take the book home for covering (due at the latest Monday).  I have placed a video on my website (scroll down below this posting) to show how to cover a book with brown paper and/or duct tape. Students were also given login information for website associated with the book.   homework:  read AR, cover book

English 8:  We continued discussing the student handbook.  This is available online at: www.telesis-academy.org - students will be receiving an agenda with a printed version of the student handbook sometime in September (compliments of Year Book Club).   We have also discussed classroom rules & procedures.  We will be STAR testing for reading and math tomorrow.  Homework:  sign and return the brochure/student information sheet (green) & the handbook agreement form (white)

English 7:  We continued discussing the student handbook.  This is available online at: www.telesis-academy.org - students will be receiving an agenda with a printed version of the student handbook sometime in September (compliments of Year Book Club).   We have also discussed classroom rules & procedures.  We will be STAR testing for reading and math tomorrow.  Homework:  sign and return the brochure/student information sheet (green) & the handbook agreement form (white)

5/20/14 - Last Day for AR is May 23rd

English 8:   We started our 3rd and last round of assessments, and students took the STAR test today.   We read our class journal to prepare for the ending, which will be written tomorrow. Assigned is the class journal entry (digital copy) and illustration - due Friday.

Geography 7: Ch. 17 TEST.  Students worked on A+ assignments for the remainder of the class (those who did not finish last week are given the chance to get them done).  Students who finished all A+ last week are not assigned this as homework.  Homework: A+ makeup work- read AR

English 8:   We started our 3rd and last round of assessments, starting with the MAZE comprehension today.  We will be taking STAR and doing WPM (words per minute) as well this week.  Students learned about and practiced writing Clerihew poetry within their journals.
Homework:  read AR

Geography 7: Study guide & student teach - Ch. 17 study guide.  Students work on a small number of questions within groups, and then teach the answers to the class.  All students left school with a completed study guide today.  Also study vocabulary, past assignments for Ch. 17, and missed items on quizzes. If you did not complete A+ last week, that is homework this week!  Homework: STUDY FOR CH. 17 TEST - read AR
