5/9/14 NEW GYM OPENING CELEBRATION!

English 8:   We made it through one presentation before going to the "NEW GYM" opening assembly.  Students need to read through designated pages in Anne Frank.  The final will be Wednesday of next week (5/14/14).  Work on study guide.

English 7: Students took Gathering Blue quiz (open book) on Ch. 10-16.  Due today was the digital copy of the class journal entry along with illustration.  Homework:   read AR

English 8:   We spent the first part of class doing research report presentations, and the remainder reading Anne Frank & working on the study guide.  Each group decided an approximate amount of pages to read daily (in and out of class).  No Vocabulary this week... read, read, read!

Geography 7: Students worked on  Guided Reading 17-1 for part of class (collected in class) and the vocabulary for pg. 465 for the remainder (due tomorrow).    Homework:  A+ -   read AR


English 7: Students were given some time to work on their journal entry (digital) and illustration (due Friday).  We read Gathering Blue in cooperative reading groups for the remainder of the class.  Students need to be through Ch. 16 by Friday's quiz.   Homework:  digital entry & illustration - (due Friday)  read AR

English 7: We read the entire class journal and students spent the remainder of class writing and ending.  Each student will read his or her ending tomorrow, and we will vote on which will be in the published version.  Students will need to edit, type, and digitally send me their entry by Friday.  Illustrations are also due by Friday.  No spelling this week.   Homework:  digital entry & illustration - (due Friday)  read AR

English 8:       FINAL ESSAY DUE TODAY
Students were given class time to make final edits, check citations, and get their essays printed & together.  If it was not turned in today, it is considered late.

English 8:     Students were given a demonstration on creating references (sources) within Microsoft word, inserting citations in text, and creating a bibliography (words cited) page.  After practicing these items and working on the final essay, we read in cooperative reading groups.  FINAL ESSAY DUE TOMORROW
