English 8: After DOL/Journal, we corrected the vocabulary packet and discussed unfamiliar words. QAR (Question Answer Relationship) was introduced as a new concept to a few students and refreshed from last year for some. We'll be working with this reading strategy over the next week or so to prepare for our class novel. *homework: vocabulary categories - read AR
Teen Leadership: We discussed the qualities of minimum, average, and EXCEL leaders. In addition, students participated in a trust exercise before we discussed the speech to be given tomorrow. Students will give a one and a half minute speech about themselves. Affirmation bags were due today as well, and students wrote their first affirmations. *homework: prepare speech - read AR
English 7: After DOL/Journal, students were introduced to the reading strategy QAR (Question Answer Relationship). We will be working with this over the next few weeks in preparation for our class novel. *homework: spelling 5X each - read AR
